The new update of Elegant Themes Divi 3 page builder is now available, but is it worth the hype?

Divi 3.0 Has Arrived! Introducing The Visual Page Builder So Ridiculously Fast & Easy-To-Use You’ll Think It’s Magic

That's quite a bold claim, but as someone who has built websites from raw HTML, I welcome any tool that will help anyone build better web pages and sites using a very straight forward WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) interface.

Take a look at the new Divi 3.0 page builder in action

So what's changed in the new version of Divi?

Put simply, this is a complete rewrite of the Divi interface.

The previous versions used modules or sections to layout the pages - this meant it wasn't truly a WYSIWYG editor, but more of a "lets try this template outline and then preview it and tweak it ".

What we have now is more of a simple "click and change" in real time interface.

This makes it simple for people with zero knowledge of building websites, to actually put together something that looks entirely professional.

What alternatives are there?

The only other page builder I recommend is the Thrive Content Builder.

This entire site was built with Thrive, and it includes landing page generation, autoresponder integrations, animations, tabbed content and so on - and is already a very simple WYSIWYG editor.

If you want a button, you click and drag a button onto the screen wherever you want it - then change colours, sizes, fonts, text, icons and so on.

DIVI 3.0 now measures up to Thrive - but I see this as a really good thing. Competition has always made things better for the end user - and I'm sure Thrive will sit up and take notice that Divi is now biting at its heels.

Which would I recommend?

I am entirely biased - as I've bought and used Thrive and all of their themes and plugins (which are all free with their full subscription) for over a year now, and I'm very comfortable using all of its features.

However, if I was weighing up both Divi and Thrive Content Builder, I really could choose either, and be 100% happy with the interface and the results I'm able to achieve with them.

Wrapping it all up...

Both content builders are highly recommended, and the choice is really arbitrary.

The new Divi 3.0 page builder from Elegant Themes is definitely recommended, and will suit anyone looking to quickly build professional quality sites easily.

If you don't already have Thrive Content Builder from Thrive Themes, try them both out before you decide.

All the best, Mark
